We have 85 acres of beautiful lake, with multiple launch points. We have equipment to allow disabled sailors to access the lake. Our club house has changing rooms, galley, social area and a training room. We offer hire boats, RYA training courses, dinghy and canoe storage. We also have a camping field and BBQ facilities.

What's On?

We look forward to welcoming you to our club for our Open Day.

If you would like to try sailing, our experienced volunteers look forward to taking you out on the water in our safe and stable club boats. We are happy to provide you with buoyancy aids, but it’s best to bring some warm clothes that you don’t mind getting wet in.

We will also be providing light refreshments in our comfortable club house. Representatives from our groups will be on hand to share their enthusiasm for sailing.

What to wear

If you would like to sail, it’s best to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet. A fleece and showerproof jacket and secure shoes (not flip flops) will keep you warm on a cooler day. Ideally not jeans as they can become cold and uncomfortable. Bring a towel and some sun cream.

Everything else including buoyancy aid will be provided. There are changing facilities on site, if required.

Will I be able to get a cup of tea?

Our galley will be open and serving drinks and confectionary.

Is there anything I need to learn before I arrive?

No – you will go afloat with an experienced helm who will be able to answer your questions on sailing.

When I am on the water can a steer the boat?

There will be plenty of opportunity to help sail the boat either by pulling on the ropes or steering the boat it will be up to you. Either way our team are really keen that you enjoy your time on the boat and share their passion for sailing.

Will I be able to take photos?

Yes, there will be ample opportunity to take photos but if you want to take your phone/camera on the water it will have to be at your own risk.

Will I be able to sign up for a training course on the day?

Once you come off the water one of the team will happily talk through all of the different options that we have at the club to enable you to continue sailing.

Will I be able to find out more about Club Membership?

Yes, our volunteers will be able to explain the fees and how to join.

Can the whole family visit?

Yes, kids, parents, grandparents are all welcome! Children under the age of ten are asked to wear a buoyancy aid when not in the club house. Our Juniors group will be running the same day and you will be able to get a flavour of what they offer.
