Weymouth 2016

We are delighted to invite you to join us in Weymouth at the Andrew Simpson Sailing Centre for our 5th Annual Weekend Away on 24th/25th September 2016.

This year is even more special as we are opening the weekend to ALL our juniors members including our youngest stage 1s. It is a fantastic opportunity to learn to sail on coastal waters, in the shelter of Weymouth Harbour and under the expert support and teaching from the centre staff.

For our experience Weymouth Sailors, the centre have some new boats and the promise of some great sailing and challenges that you might not experience at Lake 26.

Parents and Relatives are welcome to sail too, however our youngsters will take priority with boat choices. You are also welcome to bring your own boat, please liaise with the centre directly.

Non sailors are welcome too, the area is fantastic for walking or just spending the day on the beach or just hanging out with the book at the sailing centre, watching your little ones from the balcony (bring your binoculars!)

The prices have been maintained at the 2015 rates.

Booking your sailing/meals

You will find the event in the WSC webcollect calendar for the 24th/25th September 2016, or just search on ‘Weymouth’ in the events section. Weymouth Saturday and Weymouth Sunday. This year you will be asked to provide information about age, stage and boat preferences.

Non sailors can book meals if they would like them here too.

Prices include a 1% paypal fee.

Places and boats are reserved on a first come, first served basis. You may be allocated a different boat if demand dictates, however we will aim to give everyone the chance to sail their choices for at least one session. The centre staff will need to see you sailing on the Saturday morning before they will trust you with the 29er and 49ers, so please avoid choosing those for that session!

Please book via the WSC webcollect page link

Booking accommodation

There is a host of types of accommodation in the area, but for the last 3 years we have negotiated a favourable rate with Cove Holiday Park, Portland, http://www.coveholidaypark.co.uk/ which has a drying room and great sea views!
This year they have given us discounted rates for 2 types of accommodation for the 2 nights, Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September.

Brightstones at £236 (inc linen)

Purbecks at £209 (ex linen)

There are other types of accommodation including neat little ‘pods’, you might be able to negotiate a deal there too.

We tend to congregate in the ‘Hayloft’ on the Saturday evening too.

To finish

It is become a bit of a tradition that we all head down to Weymouth for fish and chips on the Old Quayside after the sailing on the Sunday, before heading home, everyone welcome.
